Creative Writing Solutions has been in business for twenty years, since the time I worked as a newspaper reporter while putting myself through college. Through the years, I obtained a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in health administration (at which point I mastered AP style!) I worked for ten years as a medical editor while penning articles and blogs on the side. While I enjoy writing, editing is my jam. I obtained certification in proofreading and continue to hone my skills through continuing education via the Editorial Freelance Association and other credentialed agencies. I am proficient in the Chicago Manual of Style and work mainly with Microsoft and Google Docs.

Proofreading

Proofreading is the final check on written work before it goes to print, verifying the work is free from errors in typesetting, grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation. Fiction and Nonfiction Novels- $0.02/ word Children's Books, Short Stories, Poems - $25 per hour

Copy/line editing

Copy editing is the process of revising written material to improve readability, as well as ensuring that text is free of grammatical and factual errors while keeping the writer’s voice intact. Line editing dives more deeply into readability and nuance, suggesting more substantive changes, perhaps, while keeping the overall tone the same. Fiction and non-fiction novels-$0.025 per word Children’s Books, Short Stories, Poems - $30 per hour
